I have a task to rebuild this L2000 server.
I don't have root password
I don't have LAN IP address
I only have GSP IP address and Login/Password
I knew the system was in trusted system.. and has ignite disk available.
When I tried to reset root password using single mode, it still asked me old password.
Then I don't know what happen it hangs... when I tried to reconnect to the GSP. I got this message, "[Request for console write access failed!]". That is everytime I press Ctrl-E c f.
Please see attachment for screen dump.
How am I able to regain the access for GSP?
And how am I able to reset root password?
Please help me... Thank you...

Re: Urgent:L2000 GSP - console write access failed
You need to reset the GSP to make them valid:
...
-> Settings have been updated.
-> Reset the GSP for LAN configuration to take effect.
-> Use the R option of the XD command to reset the GSP.
In your case, the most easy way to do this is pulling the power plugs.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: Urgent:L2000 GSP - console write access failed
How do I reset my root password in a trusted system without reinstall the whole server?

Re: Urgent:L2000 GSP - console write access failed
You need to get into single user mode, if you haven't established a password for that too.

Solution2. Mount /usr file systems.
# mount /usr
Note: The file system might need file system check (fsck) before mounting.
3. Use the below command
# /usr/sam/lbin/usermod.sam -F -p "" root
4. Change the root account password.
# passwd root
5. Boot the system in to multi user mode.
