V-Class CPU Deallocation

Is there a way to permanently deallocate CPUs in a V-Class system without physically removing the hardware? I think that I may be able to use xconfig or BCH but don’t know if it would be permanent i.e. still be removed after a reboot.

Also I would like documentation for the process if possible.

Thanks,
Steve
