Which one is faster?

I have the following :

L2000-44, 440MHz with 4 CPUs, 4GB Memory.
rp5430, 750MHz with 2 CPUs, 8GB Memory.

Which system has better performance??

Hi,

The both server are fast enough. The question is what will you use them for ?

The TPM comparision:
RP-5450/L2000 4 440 22,422
RP-5430/L1500 2 750 27,500
gives a preference to rp5430, but there are additional questions: number of slots, bus speed etc.
I suppose, the answer depends on the servers' price significantly.

No way to compare until you define the application load. 4 CPUs at 440Mhz will be faster than 2 CPUs at 750Mhz as long as you are running 4 or more compute-bound programs at the same time. But that is not always the case for a database application. In that case, transactions per minute (TPM) are a better metric. The extra memory in the rp5430 is a advantage ONLY if your applications can be configured to use the memory. Some databases can do this (like Oracle) but other cannot and the extra memory is wasted.
