Will 100Base-T NIC Prod.No.: A3495-60301 fit into D370 ?

Hi,

we have a couple of left over NICs of type as mentioned in the subject line.
I can recall that they fitted into slots of a K-Class.
However, too low bandwidth of a D-Class box that only posseses a 10Base-T NIC, and operates in half duplex mode, now demands for a NIC upgrade.
Thus I wonder if one could install the above NIC in the D-Class as well?

no you cannot. This is an HP-PB card, and is only meant for the K or T class. The D370 cannot use PB cards

Hi,

For D370 you can use the following:
HP-HSC EISA Form Factor:
J3515A 1-port
J3516A 2-port adapters

BTW, in order to prevent collisions, connect the existing 10-BaseT NIC to a switch, noy to a hub (if you have a switch).

Victor,

thanks for your suplementary hints.

No, we don't use any LAN hubs in our networks to my knowledge, and the box is connected to a switch that supports VLANing.

As I cannot see the operational mode of the server's NIC with OS commands, and I cannot login on the switch to find out myself I have to rely on what our network admins tell.
