blank screen

Hi,
i have HP 9000 300 machine with boot rom rev.c
My screen going black after some initial bootrom message or when it is working.
recently i changed monitor.after switching on & off machine could not getting power on.when i
reinserted all cards one by one then machine is getting power on.after that anytime time going black.
pls suggest sloving problem of screen going black.

Hello,
I think your system redirect the console output to the RS232 instead of the graphic console. As far as I remember, you need to do something like : Shut down the system (maybe forced by power off/on, or connect RS232 terminal to serial port). Than press shift and reset keys together, then do an attended mode reboot by holding down the space bar. At the ? prompt enter "C" and press return. A menu of interfaces will appear. Select the right interface save and reboot.
