boot from dat

after using the shutdown command, and interrupting the autoboot - i want to boot from my dat drive. what do you tell unix is the path? the 10/12...or the ctdt...?

You interupt the boot process, and enter the 'SEArch' command. From memory, it will display somelike like:

P0 10/12/0.6 Random Access Media
P1 10/12/0.5 Random Access Media
...
...
P7 8/12/0.0 Sequential Access Media

The sequential access media devices are the tape drives found (P7). You can then
BOOT P7
or
BOOT 8/12/0.0
If it ain't broke, I can fix that.

Hi

older machines from before CD's became a standard component often have the secondary boot device set to the tape device in which case interrupt the boot and type

Hi,

Interrupt the boot sequence and search for the bootable devices using sea.

Boot from the Sequential Access Media

bo P3 ( example)

sometimes bo alt also works.
If you have set your alternate boot path to Dat drive.
