Re: check temparature

hi sachit ;

you can look at mp command ps.

mp -> cm -> ps

low : from 28 to 37
medium : from 37 to 42
high : 42 and above.

Re: check temparature

Very few (if any) servers have the capability to check/display the actual temperature. You may be able to find out if they are over a certain threshold, but that's about it. Some of the more modern UPS units (our more recent APC's, for example) have environment sensors attached and would be more suited to querying the actual temperature.

Re: check temparature

For the L3000 you will only see something similar to this:

GSP> ps

PS

Power Monitor Status:
Firmware Revision : A
System Power state: On Power Switch : On
Temperature : Normal
...

For the RP8400:

MP:CM> ps
...
T - Cabinet
S - System Backplane
G - MP (Core I/O)
P - IO Chassis
C - Cell
Select Device: t
...
Temperature state : normal
...

Not sure if the rp8400 can also show this
(taken from a rp7420):

MP:CM> de

Display status of the selected MP entity (for use by trained personnel only)

B - BPS (Bulk Power Supplies)
U - CLU (Cabinet Utilities: Fans, Intrusion, Clock's etc.)
A - PACI (Partition Console Interface)
G - MP (Management Processor)
P - PM (Power Management)
H - Cell Board Controller (PDHC)
Select device: u
...

Inlet Air Temperature : 18 deg C

...
Select device: h
...
CPU 0 Temp : 30 deg C
CPU 1 Temp : 30 deg C
CPU 2 Temp : 31 deg C
CPU 3 Temp : 30 deg C
MMU Temp : 30 deg C
Cell Board Temp : 28 deg C
...

Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.
