Dear All
I have cisco router and HP rp8400 v11.1 server AND i want to configure the cisco router to send his log messages to this server. (syslog) what is the configration?

On The UNIX side, virtually none if you can take the defaults.. but if you need to to customize, edit /etc/syslog.conf and start off with enabling all alerts & levels (see man page for syslog/syslogd for what level and facility you want.
Then on your CISCO/whatever network element (ie. another server, switch. router, print server) that supports syslog .. you just simply point them SYSLOG to whatever IP address/DNS entry of your designated UNIX Syslog Server.
On large enterprises, I usually recommend a dedicated SYSLOG server that has sufficient storage and LOG filtering/rotation in place.
