I want to add one more cell board containing two CPUs and 8GB memories to an existing rp7410 box. HP CE told me that I should configure new cell board to be integrated with existing box.
Please help me to configure new cell board.

Re: configure new cell board
What the CE is telling you is that the cell boards should be balanced - i.e. same # of CPUs & memory count between them.
So if you have 2CPU & 8 GB on the original cell board, then you're OK. If not then balance them on the install of the second.

Jeff

Re: configure new cell board
My earlier advice was based on the assumption that you're not using nPars - hard partitions. If you are then what you need for each partition will dictate how to populate the cell-boards.
If however you intend to have a single partition, then you should populate them both with 3 CPUs & 12 GB memory each I'd believe.

Re: configure new cell board
The reason why I am asking you this is that we have two RP7410 servers wich have two cell boards, 6 CPU and 6 GB Memories.
However, one cell board has 4 CPU and 4 GB memories and the other one has 2 CPU and 2 GB memories. They have only one partition
on both boxes.
This conflicts with your answer.

Re: configure new cell board
No it's not required, but recommended for performance reasons. Mainly the memory should be balanced for interleaving to have maximum benefit. But I believe balancing the CPUs also has a benefit as well.
I'm sure an HP HW guru will chime in & give us a definitive answer.

Jeff

Re: configure new cell board
Once done you can use the gui partition manager at /opt/parmgr/bin/parmagr to add the new cell board in the partition .

If you attach it there, I really appreciate it.
