connection to a GSP in rp5470

Hello together

I´m trying to configure a GSP rev.b in a HP rp5470.

1. When the server is running, is it possible to have access from UNIX to the GSP with a special command?
2. I have tried to connect a Windows XP Laptop to the console Port using the Hyper Terminal (2400 baud; emulation VT100), but I didn´t get a connection to the GSP. Do I have to change the parameters?

I hope you can help me.

Best regards

Ruediger

Re: connection to a GSP in rp5470

You can change some GSP settings from UNIX, but in general the only way is through the serial port or LAN port

Serial settings:
9600 baud
8 data bits
1 stop bit
no parity
Xon/Xoff

What are the chances...

Re: connection to a GSP in rp5470

For changing the setting of the GSP, is it necessary that the server is running or is it OK to connect them only to the power supply?

Are you getting a connection to the system? i.e. are you getting logged onto HPUX?

If there is not connection at all, be sure you are using a null modem cable.

If you are getting logged on to HPUX, then after you are logged on hit Ctrl-B to get to the GSP prompt.

Re: connection to a GSP in rp5470

hi,

connect the laptop to the local console port with settings given. this should get you to normal display of pdc and boot up of server if powered on.

from here press control b to access gsp.

then you can configure lan interface on gsp and you can connect via unix to the gsp by ip address or telnet/web browser.

to initailly setup gsp server need not be running but powered on, ie power cords in and power to system without it turned on

Hi,

After getting the MP login thro Serial,

Admin/Admin is the default useraccount

use,

MP>CM

MP>CM>LC --> to configure the LAN interface of the GSP

then you can access the GSP by telnetting to this IP.

With Regards,

Siva.

Re: connection to a GSP in rp5470

Hi Ruediger Steudte,

You need to configure your hyperterminal to the correct serial port where your console cable is connected with following setting

9600 baud
8 data bits
1 stop bit
no parity
Xon/Xoff

Normally doing a restore default will get the above values.

Once you get the console, you can give Ctrl+B for getting access to MP/GSP .

give LC for list the current Lan configuration & it will ask you whether you need to change the parameters.

Please go through the attached document for more reference about GSP.
