console on R390
I have a terminal plugged into serial1.
FYI: I have a video card plugged into the turbo slot. If that makes any difference.

Re: console on R390
Is there a way to reset the configuration (I assuming in the NVRAM or something like) to send the console output to the serial port?
thx for replying.

Re: console on R390
Do you have an access port card?
Try to connect a serial terminal, disconnect PS2 mouse and keyboard and reboot. You should see the output on the terminal.
IIRC if you have the access port, the console is there ...
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: console on R390
I assume there is an access port card installed, because it is a R390.
Connect the serial cable to the "normal" serial port. The ports on the card are for UPS and modem.
Switch the switch on the AP card to "service". Power down the server.
Better to reset the terminal too - power off the terminal and hold down "d" key for some seconds while powering on. Now power on the server.
This will overwrite the VGA console.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.
