Re: core_hw Events ??

Hi Mike,

Check /var/opt/resmon/log/event.log

There should be detailed info in there if not let me know.

Re: core_hw Events ??

Also might want to check the system health using cstm and logtool.

# echo "sel dev all;info;wait;il"|/usr/sbin/cstm

#cstm
cstm> ru logtool
logtool> rs
logtool> fl

Re: core_hw Events ??

The event log just appears to me to be restarting the event monitor... I don't see any issues in anything....

Re: core_hw Events ??

Hmmm...

You probably already saw this: http://docs.hp.com/en/diag/ems/emd_ia64core.htm

Is there anything new in SEL that might be triggering these? The are a few fixes to this monitor for failing to log certain events, so you might want to update STM (SFM/EMS) to make sure everything is being logged properly.

Also you may want to check the other log files in /etc/opt/resmon/log/ to see if anything else indicates why the monitor is restarting.

Logtool Utility>rs
-- Logtool Utility INFORMATION --
A current raw log file does not exist to use as the default selected file.
You must select an existing file using either Select Raw or Select Formatted
as appropriate from the File menu.

Re: core_hw Events ??

Your diagnostic version (Feb 2007) is already unsupported, see

http://docs.hp.com/en/diag/stm/stm_upd.htm

Consider to update!

http://h20293.www2.hp.com/portal/swdepot/displayProductInfo.do?productNumber=B6191AAE

The reason is probably this:

Previously this system was not responding to the monitor's query because
of one of the following reasons :

* system's name could not be resolved to IP address
* the network was down or the network response was poor
* the Online Diagnostic software was not present or was not running on
it

Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.
