root gets the following mail from the system every 15 minutes:
Notification Time: Wed Aug 1 14:48:47 2001
lotus sent Event Monitor Restart information:
Title: dm_core_hw
Command: /usr/sbin/stm/uut/bin/tools/monitor/dm_core_hw
Vendor: Hewlett-Packard Company
Version: B.01.00
Monitor PID: 2701
Resources currently monitored:
/system/events/core_hw/core_hw
I found similar problem in forum which lead to patch PHSS_22847 but when I install the patch, I got the following error:
======= 08/01/01 14:20:08 PDT BEGIN swinstall SESSION
(non-interactive)
* Session started for user "root@lotus".
* Beginning Selection
* Target connection succeeded for "lotus:/".
ERROR: There is currently no depot software on host "lotus" at
location "/var/spool/sw".
* Source connection failed for "lotus:/var/spool/sw".
WARNING: More information may be found in the daemon logfile on this
target (default location is lotus:/var/adm/sw/swagentd.log).
* Selection had errors.
======= 08/01/01 14:20:09 PDT END swinstall SESSION (non-interactive)
Installation instruction from patch:
Move to the /tmp directory and unshar the patch:
cd /tmp
sh PHSS_22847
Run swinstall to install the patch:
swinstall -x autoreboot=true -x patch_match_target=true -s /tmp/PHSS_22847.depot
Is there a different patch or what?

Re: dm_core_hw Event Monitor Restart Patch PHSS_22847 installation error.
To verify the version of STM:
# swlist -l fileset |grep -i stm
look for "B.11.00.xx.xx"
If the above shows B.11.00.16.xx, you need to install patch PHSS_24044.
In addition to this, the latest release of diagnostics also fixes this issue. It can be downloaded from http://software.hp.com/cgi-bin/swdepot_parser.cgi/cgi/displayProductInfo.pl?productNumber=B6191AAE
There are other things we could look at w/ swinstall, but I'd verify the STM ver info first.
Hope this helps

Solution# swinstall -x autoreboot=true -x patch_match_target=true -s /tmp/PHSS_22847.depot
Also check output from swlist.
# swlist -s /tmp/PHSS_22847.depot
Have you tried using swinstall interactively?
# swinstall
-> in the 'specify source' screen. enter /tmp/PHSS_22847.depot for the source path. Then choose ok. Next you'll have to mark the product for install and do the install analysis from the actions menu.
