I am trying to install HPUX 11iv1 on a 9000,

Re: failing at self-test at boot

If I remember it correctly, the system crashed while the 'relocating PDC' part, but I'm not sure anymore. I got it a few weeks ago on a L or N class and got it resolved, but *shame* did not take notes at that time.

Pleae try a RS from the GSP and try booting vmunix.prev - I hope that this does the trick.
yesterday I stood at the edge. Today I'm one step ahead.

Re: failing at self-test at boot

I have seen this message ,

If you reset the sustem with RS system will boot again .

These seems to be warning , go and see the chasis log ,error log from GSP , it should be okay then .

Re: failing at self-test at boot

Yudi,
have a look at the Timestamp, it's 2002 !!
I assume the machine has not been rebooted for some time.

If you type X to disable any future alert messages the boot should continue.
It is probably worthwhile going into GSP via CTRL+b,clear the error log and then co back.
This will then make any future error search a lot easier.

Hope this solves the problem.

Re: failing at self-test at boot

I believe that the problem is a bad disk -
