farmeware
i have a new farmeware version on a tape , i want to upgrade the farmeware version of my hp unix 10.20 operating system ,how to do that ,and what is it's effects on the system.

Firmware updates must be done with extreme care. Make sure you downloaded and created firmware for the correct system and as per the procedure mentioned in the ITRC page. Then boot with that tape. Interact IPL> N.

When you create the firmware tape using the correct procedure, the tape becomes bootable!
(You are actually doing a "dd" the firmware bootable image to tape).
