my server is properly booted and i am able to work on it using telnet / ssh on putty.
we have one web manager login for this server,
when i am trying to connect to this server thru web manager login,
it is showing this:
MP MAIN MENU:
CO: Consoles
VFP: Virtual Front Panel (partition status)
CM: Command Menu
CL: Console Logs
SL: Show Event Logs
HE: Help
X: Exit Connection
[server_hostname] MP>
how will i get the # prompt here?

Re: getting MP MAIN MENU of server
You can enter CO to go to console mode and it will ask you for the username and password.

Re: getting MP MAIN MENU of server
This is Management processor and used for collecting logs (cl, sl etc) in case of any failures. This can be used for remote shutdown or powering ON/OFF the server.

Re: getting MP MAIN MENU of server
Since there is just one partition on this machine that is the only one you can log into.

Re: getting MP MAIN MENU of server
For your normal work you should use telnet/ssh connections. Now you are on the Service/Management processor. You are able now to access the systems console, but you should use this connection for administrative purposes only. Notice the different addresses you are using while connecting via telnet to the OS or via web to the MP.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.
