If you have access to the big box you can perform an hardware gsp reset

Re: gsp superdome: cannot bump user with ^ecf

did you try ?

stty +resetGSP < /dev/GSPdiag1
share share share

Re: gsp superdome: cannot bump user with ^ecf

yes no success:

# stty +resetGSP < /dev/GSPdiag1
/usr/bin/ksh: /dev/GSPdiag1: cannot open

i can still connect to te console, only not the console from that particular npar

Re: gsp superdome: cannot bump user with ^ecf

Did you try to change to other running vPars on this nPar using CTRL A?

I would not use the console to access such a lot of different systems(different nPars with vPars), there is a enormous chance to getting totally confused (where I am?).

Use a direct telnet/ssh session to the OS instance instead.

BTW, reset the GSP by

MP:CM> XD

Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Hi,

I agree with Torsten.
You need to use ctrl-a to access individual vpars.
I always set up the prompt to show just *which* vpar I'm on.
As he stated it can become quite confusing when vpars or added to npars.

Re: gsp superdome: cannot bump user with ^ecf

pfff

ofcourse we use ssh to do normal operational tasks.... we are professionals come on!
i need the console to bring some vpars in single user mode, that's why i use the console.

ctrl a is not working on the npar console which is hanging. other npar consoles do work.

Re: gsp superdome: cannot bump user with ^ecf

Well then you've got a term type issue.
But I'm sure you knew that & how to deal with it, being professional & all....

Cheers,

Re: gsp superdome: cannot bump user with ^ecf

it is NOT an term issue, because it worked before and is still working on other NPAR consoles (same console btw). hp didn't even knew the answer.trying a hardreset of the gsp tomorrow at site....
