Re: high voltage DC power

This used to be a common problem with L and N class servers. Power sensor on GSP has gone bad. Your GSP module hardware will most probably need to be replaced.

By the way, it is strongly advisable to invest another couple of thousand dollars and buy the 3rd power supply for your server as it seems like it is running with 2 and for L class servers 2 Power Supplies are the bare minumum. If one fails, your server will crash. If you have 3 supplies, if one fails, remaining 2 supplies will keep the system going and you can get the broken one replaced while the system is running, preventing downtime.

Re: high voltage DC power

The number of required power supplies are depending on the server. For L1000 minimum is 1, for L2000 and L3000 is 2. What type of server do you have? Two power supplies are installed, correct? To have redundancy, you probably need a third PS.

Hope this helps!

Torsten.

Re: high voltage DC power

regardless of you need or want to buy a power supply or not, you still need to have a service call to get your GSP power monitor module to be checked and replaced if you are unable to boot.

there are two things which may be wrong with your system:

1.
You have 2 good power supplies but GSP thinks one of them is bad and it is refusing to boot

2.
One of your power supplies is really broken but GSP thinks both power supplies are good and tries to boot but system can not come up due to insufficient power.

Remotely, no one here can tell you which is the case. You need to call your HP support representative and ask for a service technician to be sent to your site. Bottomline is this. Do not waste any more time. Faster you call, faster you get running.
