Re: how to disable cpu
Extract the bad CPU, the computer will start up normally without any change in its settings.
Just check its primary boot.

Re: how to disable cpu
JUST re-booting the server will not necessarily disable the CPU. After all the error is LPMC (Low Priority Machine Code), This usually means a correctble error occoured.
I have recently dealt with rp8400 system with a faulty CPU that we had to maually disable (it was re-booted a few times without disabling the CPU).

Re: how to disable cpu
I disabled the cpu 0 at the pdc prompt and the system came up using the cpu 1 .
Since no expert was available at onsite to remove the defective cpu physically this was the only option.
The procedure is in the pdc prompt , got to configuration menu , by typing 'co'.
Then at the configuratio menu , type ' cpu 0 off' to disable cpu 0.Then do a power cycle of the server.
Thanks for all ur valubale suggestions
Regards
Vinu
