Mr Rutter, yes, there is an asterix in the in the remote key, but it won't change when I press the F4 button.
Also the menu button (next to F4) does not change anything.

hi,
well it sounds like the keyboard has a fault
presumably you have checked that the cable is correctly plugged in to the terminal tight enough? the clip tends to get broken on the keyboard cable and make them come loose easy.
what is the part number of the keyboard you are using? should be underneath on the sticker. it should either be a C3340-60xxx or C1400A type. The C1400A type is older and has an replacable cable as well, so check the keyboard end too
