iCAP problem
We have been working with iCAP for the last few months and have been merrily switching our extra cpu cores on and off (until the novelty wore off). I happen to know that it was working three weeks ago but today, if I try "icapstatus" I get:
ERROR: Instant Capacity is not supported on this class of system.
Any clues would be gratefully received.

Re: iCAP problem
# ps -ef | grep icapd
Do you see any other messages in the syslog related iCAP?
You might want to contact HP support as well.

Re: iCAP problem
root 4815 1 0 14:20:44 ? 0:00 /usr/lbin/icapd
root 5028 4951 0 14:21:54 pts/ta 0:00 grep icapd
I take it this means that the daemon is running.
I have rechecked the syslog and this is the only error we get but it is repeated many times.
Perhaps you're right - I shall log a call with HP.
Any further help will be gratefully received and I will try to feedback any solutions from HP for future benefit.

Re: iCAP problem
To reset the controller, I opened the Web Console on the server:
selected CM for the Command Menu
ru to reset the selected MP bus device
Select device: h for the Cell PDH Controller
Enter cell number: 1
Do you want to reset the Cell PDH Controller Slot 1? (Y/[N]) y
Easy as that.
