lanconsole password lost

Hello,
does anyone know which are the standard passwords for the lanconsole on a hp9000 n-class or can I change it as user root?

Regards
Christian

Re: lanconsole password lost

Christian,
what do you mean by password for the lansole? Is this the password for GSP?
Otherwise, if the root password is locked and console is locked:
1. Boot into single-user and reset the root password. "Ctrl-B" at /dev/console then RS. Interrupt boot, boot primary, interact with ISL, and "hpux -is".
2. Edit /etc/securetty and add one line containing the word console.

Re: lanconsole password lost

Peter ... what is the GSP? I think it's the same. I thought there are standard passwords which are configured in time of machine installation like username "Admin" with password "Admin". I know this username-password-combination from another hp/ux machine (rp4440).

there will not be any password set for lanconsole

press ctrl+b
login:
passwd:
press for both login and passwd
now you get gsp prompt
gsp> lc

now you are in lanconsole mode, you can configure, edit or delete.
