license required for aditional processors?

My system is a rp5470.
If add a processor to the system, must I add
a license to the new processor?
In this case, what command do I must use for
add the processor license.

Thx by your responses

Re: license required for aditional processors?

You shouldn't need any "license" to add your new processor. The box will configure and use it...

If you have any apps that are licensed on a 'per-processor' basis, then you'd be obligated to get new licenses for those products.

Re: license required for aditional processors?

The processor costs nothing.

All the add in products, mirror/ux, service guard et all are licensed per processor.

In addition, Oracle runs $40,000 per CPU.

Nice huh? I know people that want to decommission CPU's for that reason alone.

there was a item called B9088AC HP-UX OE LTU 1 CPU with system, and I didn't found any reference to install the license.

Re: license required for aditional processors?

if you add any procs you will have to buy an additional license..( if you buy from HP it will come with one ) you will also have to buy a license for any software that requires a lic. for every proc.
