We have a hpux server:
uname -a
HP-UX metbkp01 B.11.11 U 9000/800 605369313 unlimited-user license
model:9000/800/N4000-55
It has 1gb of memory:

Would memory from a SUN solaris V440 be compatible with the hpux server?
Sun memory: 512mb DDR PC2100 CL2.0 ECC
PC2100R-20330-M0

If you are unable/unwilling to pay HP prices for RAM for the N4000, then you might try some of the third-party folks like Kingston.
