Extender
Slot Num Configured and Slot label for each DIMM (MB)
-------- --------------------------------------------
0a 2a 1a 3a 3b 1b 2b 0b
---- ---- ---- ---- ---- ---- ---- ----
EXT 0 512 512 512 512 512 512 512 512
------------------------------------------------------
System Total (MB): 4096
Is this output showing all the slot available and occupied or just ones that are used?
If not, how can i find the FREE slots without opening the cover?
Also can i replace 512 with 1G or 2g dimms?

Re: memory slot
I believe you are full up.
Take a look at the system doc on http://docs.hp.com for this system. It will tell you how many slots there are.
I believe this system can take higher capacity chips, but that information is also on the docs.hp.com site.

Re: memory slot
"L-class servers have 16 slots (8 DIMM pairs) for memory DIMMS. . . . . . . L1000 and L2000 servers have DIMM slots located on the System Board.
L3000 servers install DIMMs using Memory Carriers. The Memory Carriers fit into slots on the System Board."
