modem on RP5430

can I put a modem and a console on an RP5430 or will I need a MUX for the modem ?

If you want to use the modem for remote console access, you connect to the "remote" port of W cable. If you want to use the modem for other use, you can connect async modem at UPS port.

Thankyou. The modem is for dial out only, so just to confirm I will be able to do this by using the UPS port yes ?

I have not seen a RP5430 do you know what kind of connection the UPS port is please ?

Yes, you can use UPS port for a async dial out modem. This port provides 1200 baud rate. There would DB-25 connector on GSP. You have to connect either W or M cable (depending on the version of GSP you have). This cable has DB-25 connector at one end and 3 DB-9 connectors for CONSOLE, REMOTE and UPS.
