new command PCIOLAD on Superdome MP
We have noticed a new command in the MP CM menu on our Superdome. This command >pciolad appears to be able to switch of and on Power to a particular card in a specific IO chassis slot. However it does not appear to work. Is this a new feature which has not been enabled yet?
Thanks
Lynsey

Re: new command PCIOLAD on Superdome MP
Hi Lynsey,
I don't know if I'd say it powers them up & down. It does however activate & deactivate PCI cards & the feature is used to replace PCI cards on-line i.e. w/o having to take the system down. This feature is known as OLAR (OnLine Activation & Replacement).
One would deactivate the faulty card, physically replace it & then activate the replacement.
HTH,
Jeff

Re: new command PCIOLAD on Superdome MP
As Jeff mentioned, this command is used for Activate or Deactivate a specific card. You can check the status of the card after entering your command. I don't think it necessarly play with the power (on/off) coming to that card.
You can read more about this command on www.docs.hp.com and in your manuals.
