power supply replacement

Hi,
I have an rp5470 server which needs one of its three hotswap p.s's to be replaced for malfunctioning.By the book, it is as simple as unpluging the faulty one and pluging the new one while the server is online. Can I as an hp-ux adminstrator do this or do I need hp service engineer to do the job?
Thanks .

Re: power supply replacement

Hi,
It depends on what type support contract you have with HP.
Normally if you are not covered under any warranty or support contract you can do it by yourself it's as simple as that.
I will advise you to call service engineer if the system is under warranty or support contract with HP.

Re: power supply replacement

HI there,
Normally HP engineer should come and do it. In our case we use to receive courier from HP and then inform HP Engg about it. He use to come and replace it (We all will then go for tea/Cig, enjoy some chat). Then the faulty was again collected by the courier person and sent back to HP.

It's a formality.
