Re: problem about rp8400's cell

Stephen,

I think you have a problem with a FAN (BLOWER). Are all the LEDS on the FANs green?

Re: problem about rp8400's cell

Luk,
i don't think that would be the problem of the FANs. imagine, would the cell boards not online if one FAN fail? and, the SL output was produced long before i think.
anyway, thank you for your reply.

Re: problem about rp8400's cell

Hi,

there are several problems:

HW status for MP : FAULT DETECTED

Complex model string: UNKNOWN

Attention LED is ON
Remote LED is on

Battery state is LOW

...

HW status for Cell 0 : FAILURE DETECTED

Power status : OFF, no fault
Boot is blocked
Core cell is INVALID

Also the firmware is some old (version 5.0).

It can be also a fan problem. I would suggest to open a call at HP and let them solve the problem.
More and deeper investigation is needed.

Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: problem about rp8400's cell

Hi Stephen,

I suspect some issue with the core io card... as you can see there is a fault indication on the ps output of core io..

T - Cabinet
S - System Backplane
G - MP (Core I/O)
P - IO Chassis
C - Cell
Select Device: g

HW status for MP : FAULT DETECTED

Complex model string: UNKNOWN

Attention LED is ON
Remote LED is on

Battery state is LOW

hence you get error messages on cell as "Core cell is INVALID"..

Note: If there is no core I/O in the partition there can be no core cell.
So for cells not part of a partition we would expect to see the core cell as invalid.

Suggest u to register case with HP..

Best Regards,
