procedure to replace a faulty hard disk

I have got a faulty internal hard disk in HP 9000/887/G50. It is not mirrored and it is not boot disk. Does any one can help me to figure out the correct procedure to replace this hard disk. Thanks.

Hi,

if you vg is not active
1. replace disk
2. run command:
vgcfgrestore -n vg_name pv_path
ex:
vgcfgrestore -n vg03 /dev/rdsk/c1t2d0
3. reactivate vg
vgchange -a y vg_name

4. restore you data

to deactivate volume group:

# vgchange -a n /dev/vg##
