programming a Board ID CompaqSmart P, 2CH Wide-SCSI

Excuse my very bad english !

Now my Question: I have a Compaq Smart /P, 2Channel Wide-SCSI adapter. When I build it in my little Proliant 400 Server to build a SCSI Raid, I get a error message : 1783-Drive Array Controller Failure (Board ID not Programmed).

What do I wrong? And how can I programme this Board ID

Error 1783 points to a ROM failure:

You can try installing a new ROM: http://h18007.www1.hp.com/support/files/storage/us/download/14694.html

The ROMPaq disk you need is Disk 1 (version 4.50) and it can take a few minutes to get throught the detection phase as well as through the bios update. Be patient with it.

If you cannot get a response during the bios detection, it is likely that the Array Controller is lost.
