"HP 9000 RP3440 :ALARM light flashes RED "

Pls can someone help out , i have RP3440 server here it has this red light alarm blinking for days now ,
i have logged in to the MP console and checked the SL logs ,there are no serious logs in there ,i have cleared the SL logs ,but the alarm persist,
i have reboot the server but the alarm persist
there are no errors or serious logs in the syslog.log file
--- WHAT CAN BE THE SOLUTION TO CLEAR THE ALARM?

Hi,

This means there is a genuine issue in the system that need to be resolved.

It will flash yellow if an event with alert level in the range 3 to 5 is
detected in the system event log. The led will turn off once the event log
has been read using the SL command in the MP command mode.

If an event with alert level 7 (fatal) is detected in the system log, or if an
fatal hardware error is detected by the BMC, the system led will flash red
until the problem is resolved and the system boots successfully. The fault
condition for system alerts of level 7 (system led flashing red) is cleared by
resolving the problem and cycling power.

Forgot to mention...

Do NOT clear the logs in an attempt to extinguish the system fault led. This
will not clear the fault indication and will only destroy the evidence that
you need to find out what caused the fault.

Have a case raised with HP engineer will be in a better position to understand the issue and provide soultion.

Hi Guys,

Please remove the power down the server and remmove the power cable and re-fix then check the LED.

This is system firmware bug, so install the latest firmware to avoid such a condition again.

As i said i have formerly rebooted the server ,its a cluster server both nodes flashes this red alarm. Now i finally made a complete shutdown and powered up from the power button and the alarm was cleared.

Make a complete shutdown instead of reboot and power on again,this cleared the alarm and the sytem became normal.
