remove cells npar0 cabinet0 and add this cell to npar1 cabinet1

hi guys,

i need to remove cell from npar0 cabinet0 and add this cell to npar1 cabinet1of same superdome.

I want remove 3 cells from RMS2partition 0 cabinet0 and add this cells to RMOS partition 1 cabinet 1.

Can i assign this 3 cell to partition1 across a cabinet with a parmodify or i must physically move this in cabinet1

and then use parmodify?

What is the warning that i consider in planning this activity? For example 1) cell firmware compatibility, 2)slot free 3) how order assign this cell ?

What is the procedure ?

This is the scenario:

Hi,

The things which u r asking is difficult to explain as its core Hardware related task. Even incase of any problem, your downtime may go beyond limited time frame. So suggest to call HP support for onsite engineer,

You would need to use parmodify to remove the cells from the partition, physically move them (and any attached IO that you want), and then add them to the partition using parmodify again.

It looks like your cell firmware is all the same, so no problem there.

The order in which you install the cell boards is not required, but you will have lower performance if your partition spans crossbar (XBAR) links.

Reference the following for details on parmodify commands and guidelines for cell slot assignments:
