I had a customer hit the reset button who expected the system (rp7410) to gracefully shutdown. Just want to confirm that this is not the case and that the reset does not cleanly shutdown.

What reset button? The power switch? If you kill power, the system will at lest attempt to sync the disks before removing power, but no, it does NOT do a graceful shutdown. Nor would it, if some sort of reset switch was hit, I would imagine.

On the subject of syncing the disks. Is the guaranteed? There are a number of corrupted files and the obvious answer is that the sync did not occur.

Well, I haven't tried it on my rp7410 (because I run vpars, I wouldn't expect it to work), but to the best of my knowledge, everything since the N-class generation will do so. I think even the old D boxes synced before actually powering down.
