I have a rp 3410 which was configured but arrived dead. I have change the system board and processor but to no avail.At the MP CM prompt when i type ss it tell me no processor installed on both sockets. I have swap the processor to another socket it still the read the same error. There is a red amber light on LED.When i type ps at the same prompt i see the power supply and the Fans installed well. Re: rp 3410 can't boot with red amber light

I guess the fan on top of the CPU is bad.

Hope this helps!

Re: rp 3410 can't boot with red amber light

I would suggest you will review SEL entried with the TEXT format mode. It probably logs an entry on the fan failure.

Re: rp 3410 can't boot with red amber light

How do i get the SEL output from the MP console. What I understand is that the first Fan of the CPU is faulty.

Check if the fan cable is connected.
If the fan is really bad, it must be replaced. IIRC the fan is part of the CPU module.

Hope this helps!

Re: rp 3410 can't boot with red amber light

Hi,

Seems like issue with the card or the device connected at PCI Slot 1 causing HPMC.. try removing the same and boot the system..

Re: rp 3410 can't boot with red amber light

Hello sakui,

We can collect the Error logs from the MP of the system as follows:

MP:> SL --> E --> D (This dumps the entire error logs)
MP:> SL --> F --> D (This collect the forward progress logs )

Please dump the logs and upload the same in the Forum.

We can check and help you further,

Hope the FAN 3 is basicllay for the DISK Backplane cooling.

As u have allready replaced the system board and the Swapped teh CPUS in the slots.. the issues suspected from the other ends ..
