Re: rp2450-system hang

Dan,

what version of HP-UX are you running?

Do you have all current patches?

Re: rp2450-system hang

Hi Dan,

This occurs when a processor is waiting on a resource that another processor is never going to release because it went belly-up.
CPUs will only wait a maximum of a minute & then "pop" their timer. This causes a panic, hence the reboot. System may have come up OK & that questionable CPU may be running OK now....but it's only a matter of time....
So I'd put in a call to HW support because you probably have a CPU going bad.

Re: rp2450-system hang

I attached a firmware update notice that may relate. It's always good to call HP, however. that's what you pay the support $$$ for.

Re: rp2450-system hang

Hi,

Is it possible to attach the latest TS file after reboot??. from /var/tombstones file system. I may be able diagnose exact problem.

Re: rp2450-system hang

Also, was this an actual system hang or did the box reboot itself ?

What is the last few lines of the /etc/shutdownlog file have in it ?
