rp3410 and DLT8000

Hi I am installing a new DLT8000 tape libriry in a RP3410 system with OS HPux 11.00.

I Am using a scsi controller with part number A4800-A, but when I installed it and try to boot the system send me a errors and never boot.

I try attaching the libriry into the scsi port that come with the server but dont recognize the tape ,
some idea

thank you

Re: rp3410 and DLT8000

The on board scsi i/f is lvd/se scsi and the A4800A is fwd scsi. these are totally different ssi buses.
You need to find out if the dlt library is fwd or sescsi to decide which controller to use.
You could potentially blow the i/f or library if you connect to wrong one.

check first and let us know

Yes DLT use Hight voltage,
server controler is LVD low voltage.
You need card that support Hight volatage

Ralph,
Be aware that hpux 11.00 is not supported on a rp3410.
You must install hpux 11i.
You also must check what type of DLT you are using (Ultra or FWD Scsi)
Perhaps you can give us the partno of the DLT
