rp3410 and nPartitions

I have a question about a rp3410. i know this server does not support virtual partitions at this time. But is anyone on the forum's using nPartitons on this box?

thanks!

Re: rp3410 and nPartitions

Hi Phil,

Nope - only cell-based systems can have nPars.
The entry level cell-based system is the rp7405. The rest of them would be
rp7410/20
rp8400/20
All SuperDomes.
Anything ending in 20 is a PA8800 dual-core system - else it's a PA8700/8700+. The 7405 is a limited config 650MHz system with a super price. Check it out if you need nPars. Just remember that you'll need 2 MP cards as well as core I/O cards to do nPars on it.
The entry level system supporting vPars is the L3000 aka rp5470.

HTH,
Jeff

Re: rp3410 and nPartitions

Although I'm not positive, I *highly* doubt it can. Simply for the reason of slot count.
Remember that you have to have enough slots for *each* partition.
The 3410 is basically an entry-level system.
If you want vPars - look for a reman L3000 or rp5470 - they'd be your best bet price-wise. as they are the entry level vPar systems.
NOTE: ONLY the L3000 or rp5470 can vPar - not L2000 or any other rp54xx.
