rp3410

Hi,

Is this two hard disks both compatible with RP3410 machine. I was thought that the 146GB is a different interface. I suppose I do not need any cable to connect the disk as it is hotplug

Re: rp3410

Hi,

It is hot pluggable, you don't need extra cables.

Here you find the service manuals for the rp3440

Re: rp3410

Strange. I was told that both above two product number are no longer available. Can I use the following product number instead.

286778-B22 HP 72GB 15K U320 Pluggable Hard Drive
347708-B22 HP 146GB 15K RPM U320 Univ Hard Drive

Re: rp3410

don't know who told yo they are no longer available cos they are perfectly valid part no's and are still on the standard HP price lists.

These parts:

286778-B22 HP 72GB 15K U320 Pluggable Hard Drive
347708-B22 HP 146GB 15K RPM U320 Univ Hard Drive

are for HP Proliant Servers and are NOT suitable for the rp3410

Re: rp3410

perhaps A9777A and A9778A is only product number not really a part number. Any idea what is the part number for this two.

Re: rp3410

No, these *are* valid part numbers! They're right here on the HP site:

http://www.hp.com/products1/servers/rackoptimized/rp3400_series/supplies.html

I suggest that if you're talking to a reseller, you try a different one, and if you're dealing direct with HP you ask to speak to another rep!

Re: rp3410

If you get into the HP part numbers for service parts you might see a different part number for components of the A9777A, which is the part number for a new complete unit. Are you looking to buy a new complete unit, or are you looking to purchase a service component. If you by service components where part numbers might look like A9777-XXXXX, then you might not get all the pieces you need for a new installation, just field replaceable parts.
Be careful.
