rp3440 - dimm size

how can i find out the current DIMM size. i know there are 12 slots and i can go upto 24G (2G Each). but how wd i find out the current dimm size? Also can i mix and match 512GB with 1GB in the slots?

Try:

# sbin/init.d/diagnostic stop

...wait a minute and then:

# sbin/init.d/diagnostic start

You should be able to install a mix of 512 and 1024 MB DIMMs in the machine, so long as you have them paired or quaded-up as necessary (I don't recall if it is groups of two or groups of four, but the system manuals at docs.hp.com will probably cover that one, if not something at http://www.hp.com/go/rp3440

The command is correct but it may not work if the system map is not correct. It is giving error for memory as a qualifier because memory (resource/device) infomation is not known to STM.

You might need to re-map the devices on the server.
Run command
# cstm
cstm> rs

It will take few minutes. Then try the command give by James.

You can use 512MB and 1GB DIMM modules. As per memory configuration rules on this server, memory DIMMS must be installed in groups of four(quad) and all DIMMs in the quad must be identical.
