rp3440 login issue

Hi,

I have a HP 3440 server where HPUX 11.11 is installed. We used to use it as our test billing server, but when our billing development team left the site, they didn't provide the root password. And we don't have any other user to login the server. Then I try to reset the root password but fail as MP console is also not working. Any suggestion from anyone, how we can login the server and can check its status. At present, we can ping the server with its LAN IP.

Re: rp3440 login issue

Consider to first reset the MP password (press the MP reset button ~10sec and answer the "are you sure" question on the screen (serial console), then boot into single user mode and reset the root password.

Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: rp3440 login issue

Hi Torsten,

No, after MP RESET, the situation remains same, cant login to MP.

BTW, as ping is active, is there anything through which I can login to the server?
