When initializing a rp3440 the wrong model type was entered thus generating the wrong model string....is there a way to undo this with out having HP come out to do this?

hi,
im not sure you can change the model string when its done, it will need hp.
you can change the product number ie A7137A within the service menu at the BCH in PDC.
you change the original and current number here.

Solution
Go to BCH Menu and enter ser
Then enter ss_update
This is ask you for a Lockword and a Password
Enter Them
If the server is Under warranty contact HP for the password else Post the lockword
SS_update Menu: Enter command > sysmo
Enter the corrosponding number
and hence the Model string can be changed.
Then enter ss_update
