rp3440 on-board serA console

I'm trying to connect a terminal device to serialA/on-board console, but it does not work, no prompt, no messages, no stuff at all.
Any suggestion?
Thank you in advance

Re: rp3440 on-board serA console

are you using hyper terminal for this?? Check your settings. They should be as follows.

1. Bits persecond-- 9600
2. Data Bits -- 8
3. Parity -- none
4. Stop bits -- 1
5. Flow Control -- none or Hardware

Re: rp3440 on-board serA console

The "Serial A" and "Serial B" ports on the rear bulkhead of the rp3440 are not useable by the customers at this time. They are "factory only" ports and will be labeled as such on future shipped systems. If there is a need to connect terminals to the system in addition to the "CONSOLE/REMOTE/UPS" RS-232 ports (available over the A6144-63001 "W" breakout cable that attaches to the 25-PIN connecter on the rear bulkhead), then you will have to acquire a separate supported PCI Mux interface.
