rp4440 System Event Fatal Alert

Hi,

I have come across the following entry in the "System Events" in one of the rp4440 MP Event Logs

Log Entry 180: 28 Aug 2009 10:08:43
Alert Level 7: Fatal
Keyword: Type-02 096f02 618242
A/C Failed, disconnected, or out of range
Logged by: Baseboard Management Controller;
Sensor: Power Unit - AC Presence
Data1: 240VA Power Down
0x204A97ACAB020BB0 FFFF026FCF090300

Can anyone help me with what A/C or AC is referring to in the logs

You will get these log entries usually if you power-down the server and disconnect the power cords. If you do CM>PS at the MP do all the power supplies/fans look OK? If so, this log entry will only be showing the last time the server was powered down.

Re: rp4440 System Event Fatal Alert

Hi Keith,

Actually there is an over temperature issue and I was checking the MP Logs. The system went into shutdown state and that happened automatically - seems to be caused by Temp Sensor crossed upper non-recoverable threshold. Its System and Thermal LEDs are red and blinking

Re: rp4440 System Event Fatal Alert

The envd daemon controls shutdown at higher temperatures - fix your air conditioning!

The MP log you've posted here is old and is normal. Do check the server using CM and PS on the MP.

Then you can ignore this historical MP log entry, or you can clear the MP.

Please don't forget to allocate points to responses on this thread.

Re: rp4440 System Event Fatal Alert

Hi,

it may look normal, but your power state is off..

Can you power the server on? if so do so and then check the status

or does it just power straight off again when you try?
