rp4440 external drive

Hi,

Is there any docs which describes scsi details in rp4440 server (eg.simplex duplex concept).I heard that there is some issue in connecting external drive to a rp4440 .Please help...

rp4440 have
Dual Ultra320 SCSI port for external peripherals
├в Optional dual-channel Ultra320 SCSI RAID controller

Hi,

I have some rp4440 with external drives connected (inside a StorageWorks MSA30), ans have no issue with this.

the build-in dual card is supported for either internal or external drives.
If the 2 internal drives are connected to the same bus, 1 external (channel B) is available for external storage.

If the 2 internal drives are on different busses, none of the external connectors are supported.

You may post an "ioscan -fn" if you are in doubt.

generally you shouldnt have a problem connecting external device
