rp4440 in old A189xA or C278xA cabinet

Has anyone successfully put a new HP server in the old racks from the mid-1990's?

I realize that ballast is necessary and that the rear door might have to be removed to handle the air flow from front to back.

Re: rp4440 in old A189xA or C278xA cabinet

Hi Ted,

I have done it last year.
It work fine. The ballast was installed yet and we removed al the back doors yet to gain space in our computer room. We never had a cooling issue or another problem with our server.

Luk,

Was it an rp4440? If so, did you use the HP rack kit? Thanks for your help.
