rp4440 - public PCI-X slots

Hi

I have 2 "HP 2Gb PCI/PCI-X Fibre Channel FC/GigE Dual Port Combo Adapter" (A9784-60001) installed in PCI-X slots 4 and 6. I believe 3&4 and 5&6 are shared 66MHz slots.

But when I do a 'fcmsutil /dev/fcd0'
I get an outoput of PCI Mode = PCI-X 133 MHz

rad -q shows slot 4 and 6 running at Max Spd and Spd of 66.

Is this a bug with fcmsutil?

Re: rp4440 - public PCI-X slots

No, I doubt it's a bug in fcmsutil.

The A9784A is actually 2 cards (actually controllers) combined onto one using a PCI-X to PCI-X bridge.

On the primary side (the side which blugs into the servers PCI bus) the bridge can operate at various modes, including 66MHz and 133MHz.

The secondary side, which is connected to the FC and GbE controllers is hard-wired to 133MHz.

Now fcmsutil is talking to the FC controller, and the FC controller sees the secondary side of the PCI-X bus, which operates at 133MHz - hence the output of fcmsutil.
