rp4440 what class?

How would I know what class is rp4440
I checked the install guide and other related documentation
but they dont specify what class is this server
do any one know what class this server is

further what class does the latest servers which comes with 900 and 1000Mhz processors fall in

Hi martin,

Well all systems mentioned would be in the HP9000/8XX also known as 800 class. Workstations (B, C, J, etc.) are 700 class systems.

NOW if you mean the old lettering system, (like the N-class is an rp7400), well the rp4440 is not going to fit into one because it came out *after* HP abandoned the lettering schema.
But if I was forced to "peg" it into one it would be a "large" A-class (rp24XX) or a small L-class (which is the rp54XX now.)

Hi Martin,

I believe HP changed the classes. It is now entry-level, mid-range and high-end classes.

The PA-8800 (800 MHz and 1.0 GHz) is used in all the servers.

The rp4440 is past the class range.

HP Renamed the machines and stopped the "classing" strategy.

i.e The N-Class became a RP7400

Noe the next one is series
Series 700 = Workstations
Series 800 = Servers

Now the processors is a component and is not used to determine the class if we look at the following

In an L-Class we used 750Mhz processors and the same in an N-Class.

You will find those processors in more recent model servers though.

The answer to "how to find what package a fileset belongs to" is
# swlist -l file |grep shutdown
(replace shutdown with whatever file you're trying to locate)

But note, you might be able to simply apply the latest shutdown patch which would be easier than reinstalling the fileset from media.
