rp5450 temp alarm

Once when our air conditioner died, the RP5450 send an email to root, when the temperature hit some high mark.

Does anyone know what that specific temp is, or where it is configured?

Re: rp5450 temp alarm

There is a specific temperature range threshold for monitoring the temperature as mentioned in the technical specifications.
There is a temperature sensor located on the System Platform Monitor board which samples the incoming air temperature.

Refer following doc for complete description of how it operates.
http://www2.itrc.hp.com/service/cki/docDisplay.do?docLocale=en_US&docId=200000059312859

Specifications for the rp54xx servers

The temperature range is hard-coded in the system firmware. As far as I know, there is no way to change it or configure it.

Re: rp5450 temp alarm

The temp. values are not adjustable, because it is "life saving" for the server to shutdown/power off.

The behavior is like this: warning overtemp, warning critical overtemp (31...35 degrees C), OS shutdown (AFAIK reboot -h) (35...40), power off (>40).

Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.
