rp5470 memory in an rp4440 ?

Long shot - Will memory from an rp5470 fit an rp4440 ?

It doesn't look like it, Tom - the part numbers are completely different.

A6967AX 269.00
256MB, 266MHz, PC2100, non-ECC DDR-SDRAM DIMM memory module - for the rp4440

A5797-69101 444.00
256MB ECC high-density SDRAM DIMM - for the rp5470

The memory is a different type and physically will not fit either.

Also the memory in the rp4440's are installed in quads and rp5470's are paired.

Hi Tom,

the rp54xx DIMMs have different dimensions and using different technology also.

But there are DIMMs for rp4440 systems available up to 4GB/DIMM.

Memories in these servers are different. An example is listed below

rp5470

A5798A 1024MB ECC DIMM high-density memory upgrade kit - Includes two 512MB SDRAM DIMM modules

rp4440

A7128A 1.0GB DDR-SDRAM memory upgrade kit - Includes four 256MB, 266MHz, PC2100, non-ECC DDR-SDRAM DIMM memory modules

My documentation says that the rp4440 has ECC protected DDR RAM. Could they both be right and the ECC is done in the memory controller?

RAM Type - PC2100 ECC registered DDR266A/B SDRAM is what it also says on the web site at:
http://www.hp.com/products1/servers/rackoptimized/rp4440/specifications.html
